This map, and the 12 accompanying activities, provides students in grades 7 to 12 with the opportunity to learn more about the connection between physical geography and major disease outbreaks in history, such as the Spanish Flu, the plague, cholera and malaria. It can be used to help students learn about the importance of emergency preparedness and understand how Canada is preparing, both at home and abroad, for future pandemics.
Unmasking Influenza activities:
Please note: these activities are designed to be used in conjunction with a world Giant Floor Map, but can be modified for use with the tiled map.
