The Floods in Canada Tiled Map and associated infographic and lesson plans, created in partnership with FloodSmart Canada, are a very timely set of resources. Data from the Canadian Disaster Database (CDD) suggests that floods in Canada are happening more frequently now in comparison to the past, and that these floods are increasing in severity and cost. Teachers are encouraged to use this set of resources to teach students about flooding and some of the causes of floods, as well as what to do before, during and after a flood.
