The Canadian Coast Guard, an agency of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, works to keep Canada’s waterways safe, secure and accessible. They also have a role in ensuring that Canadian waterways are used in a sustainable manner and in securing and protecting all of Canada’s coastline. In partnership with the Canadian Coast Guard, Canadian Geographic Education has created educational resources to help students learn about the role of the Canadian Coast Guard, the services it provides, and the variety of careers offered within this agency.
