Climate Change Resources

Climate change affects so much more than just ice caps — it touches everything from our beautiful natural landscapes and rich wildlife, to complex industrial processes and urban infrastructure. The changes that are wrought on Canada’s environment ripple out to every living organism. The following infographics, based on two reports from Natural Resources Canada, offer a way to unravel the complex issue of climate change.

Use the collection of resources below to introduce students to the main features of climate change and its effects on the environment, exploring problems such as melting permafrost and ocean acidification. Encourage students to examine the various threats climate change poses to biodiversity, like habitat destruction and foreign pest outbreaks.
