Rochelle Strauss is a bestselling children’s book author, whose new book, The Global Ocean, is a follow-up to her phenomenally successful book One Well: The Story of Water on Earth, which has sold more than 400,000 copies around the world, and is a UN Sustainable Development Goals Book Club pick. Through her work, Strauss combines her love of nature and passion for stories to teach children about the wonders of the natural world. She lives with her family in Toronto, Ont.
This event is meant for students at the elementary and intermediate level who are in grades 3-7. Classrooms must reside in Canada. While camera spots are reserved for classrooms, we invite people of all ages to tune into the event through our YouTube and Facebook channels.
Can Geo Education is inviting teachers in grades 3-7 to sign up their classrooms for the chance to join Rochelle Strauss for a 45-minute presentation about her book The Global Ocean. Rochelle will share highlights from the book as well as include important messages about how students can work to protect the ocean. Classrooms with a camera spot will be able to talk with Rochelle directly and ask questions!
If you would like a camera spot, please complete the form below by Friday, May 13, 2022, by 5 p.m. (EDT). There are six camera spots. Can Geo Education will select classrooms for a camera spot by random draw from among those that register. A member of Can Geo Education will contact all selected teachers closer to the event date.
If you don’t get a camera spot, or if you have a classroom learning virtually from home, you and your class can still watch live on YouTube or Facebook and ask questions in the chat!
Please note: This event will be recorded and live-streamed to the public on Can Geo Education’s YouTube and Facebook channels. Please make sure that any students visible on camera have permission to be filmed. This event is English only.
